I was reading an online marketing forum this week and a poster had asked, "I have new website with a great product, where can I get tons of free traffic from?".
Well, as it happens I know of a free traffic program where you can not only get tons of free traffic but where it is actually highly targeted traffic. Imagine that, people are looking for exactly what you are offering and you can get them to come to your site, absolutely free.
The name of this free traffic program? Google.
You see, if you have your own website or blog and a great product or service the best way to get tons of free, targeted internet traffic is to work really, really hard at getting your website listed high on Google for your targeted keywords. Sure, it might not be instant traffic but it is certainly free traffic.
And how do you get your website ranking high on Google for your targeted keywords? You do good SEO. first off, you do the right on-page SEO (Google tell you exactly how to do this by the way) and then you work hard to build up lots of high quality backlinks by doing article marketing, directory submissions, forum commenting, blog commenting, press releases, RSS submissions, social bookmarking and so on. That's the way to get tons of free, targeted website traffic.
But I guess that particular poster didn't really want tons of free traffic. What s/he was probably looking for was a quick fix. We live in an age where people want everything, for free and they want it right now. Life just isn't that easy.
Google is a great free traffic program but it takes a bit of effort to make it work for you and your website.
